Claudia Nixon, Clinical Intern
Hello! My name is Claudia and I am a Clinical Social Work intern currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Thank you so much for considering me in your therapy journey! I am passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.
I believe that who we are and how we feel cannot be separated from the relationships, families, communities, experiences, and environments that shape our lives. I believe that therapy can be a space not only for personal growth, but also for helping clients recognize their strengths and feel empowered to create meaningful change.
I enjoy working with clients ages 6 – 40. My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and individualized. I draw from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, Person-centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Family Systems approaches. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I strive to adapt to each client’s unique needs, goals, and experiences.
Whether you are navigating a difficult transition, working through emotional challenges, strengthening relationships, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I hope to provide a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and taking steps toward the changes you want to make.
