Megan Robinson, LCMHCA
Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with a concentration in play therapy and school counseling. I obtained my Masters in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I am dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based care. In addition to providing therapy, I currently serve as an elementary school counselor, where I have gained years of experience supporting students and their families. I am skilled in helping children with ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, social skills, and school-related challenges.
I believe that every individual has unique strengths and the ability to grow and heal. I create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, valued, and understood. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and individualized, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Adlerian Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT); and I also utilize play therapy techniques to meet each client’s unique needs.
When working with children, I believe parents and caregivers are essential partners in the therapeutic process. I strive to collaborate closely with families by providing guidance, practical strategies, and ongoing support to help reinforce growth beyond the therapy session. By working together, we can create consistency across home, school, and other environments to best support the child’s emotional, social, and behavioral development.
I will use developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions to help children process emotions, strengthen coping skills, build self-confidence, and improve relationships in a way that feels natural and engaging. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, I am committed to helping clients recognize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve meaningful, lasting growth.
