Caitlyn Andersen is a National Board Certified Counselor who works with children (ages 4+), teens, adults, and families navigating a wide range of life challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and life transitions.
Caitlyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Clemson University and her Master of Science in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in Addictions from East Carolina University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi for academic excellence.
During her graduate training at ECU, Caitlyn provided therapy at the university’s clinic, including court-mandated anger management and individual counseling. She later interned at PORT Health – Adolescent Inpatient in Greenville, NC, focusing on adolescent substance use treatment. After graduation, she continued her work in intensive treatment settings, providing individual, group, and family therapy at a PRTF. Following her move back to Charlotte, NC, Caitlyn transitioned to providing outpatient therapy where she has worked with adults, adolescents, and children. This diverse background has equipped her with a calm, grounded approach to de-escalation and emotional regulation in high-stress situations.
Caitlyn’s therapeutic style is person-centered and holistic, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and expressive arts. Caitlyn has also received training in perinatal mental health and has a strong desire to grow in this area of practice. She is passionate about helping clients develop greater self-awareness, unpack unhelpful patterns, and build confidence and resilience in themselves and their relationships. Caitlyn also works closely with families and children—individually and through family therapy—to support shared mental health goals and improve communication, boundaries, and connection in the home.
Outside of the office, Caitlyn enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, attending live music events, painting/drawing, reading, and going on walks in nature.
Caitlyn provides virtual services to NC residents and is available for in person services at the Denver location. For more information and to explore if you are a good fit for Caitlyn, please contact her at caitlyn.miraclescounseling@gmail.com or by calling the office.
