Welcome! My name is Carmen Rudd and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate in North Carolina. I received my Master’s in Social Work from UNC Charlotte and my bachelor’s degree from UNC Chapel Hill.
My approach as a therapist is collaborative and empowering. I strive to create a warm, inclusive space where each client feels safe to take an active role in their therapy journey. A key component of my practice that I find incredibly rewarding is guiding clients in recognizing and building on their existing strengths. I believe meaningful healing comes from within, and my goal is to help clients reconnect with their inner resilience and wisdom to create change.
I work with children ages 4 and above, teenagers, and adults, offering in-person and virtual sessions. I treat depressive and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, and behavioral diagnoses like ADHD. I am also passionate about working with biracial or multicultural individuals, college students, and the LGBTQIA+ population.
I have an eclectic approach so each client’s treatment is specific to them and their needs. I have training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). For treating OCD, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and ACT. With children and teens, I implement play- and art-based interventions. I am also trauma-informed, incorporating Prolonged Exposure (PE) and somatic experiencing techniques.
Thank you for considering me to be a part of your mental health journey. Please contact me if you believe we would be a good fit! I am available for in-person therapy in Concord, NC. Alternatively, clients aged 14 and up can meet virtually. I look forward to connecting and understanding more about how I can support you!
