Hello, my name is Hunter Thomas. Thank you for taking the time to visit my page—I’m truly glad you’re here.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I am also an active member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors, which helps me stay connected with current best practices and ethical standards in the field.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults facing a range of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. These include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, ADHD, men’s issues, and other life stressors. I believe that no matter your age or background, therapy can be a space for growth, healing, and clarity.
My therapeutic foundation is built on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities to meet each person’s unique needs. These include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy for children, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful approach for trauma and emotional processing.
I am passionate about helping clients explore and shift unhelpful thought patterns while building practical tools to improve emotional regulation, coping, and self-understanding. Therapy with me is collaborative, respectful, and tailored to support your goals and values. For those who are interested, I am trained in integrating faith into the therapeutic process, and I am able to incorporate Christian principles into our work when requested.
Whether you are navigating a major life transition, managing chronic stress, or simply looking for greater self-awareness and balance, I would be honored to walk alongside you. My hope is that therapy becomes a safe place for you to gain insight, feel supported, and take steps toward meaningful change.
I am currently available for in-person therapy in Denver, NC, and I also offer virtual sessions for added convenience and flexibility. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and support you on your journey toward wellness.
