My overall hope and approach with all of my clients is to build a relationship that combines a welcoming environment that creates space to positively challenge you to look deeper inside yourself. I believe everyone is still able to change their story, learn from their past, and learn new skills to deal with the inevitable stressors that we all face. No matter your age or what brings you here, I am proud of you!! Therapy is a scary step but hey, you made it this far!
I am a bulldog undergraduate with degrees in Psychology and Communication Studies. From there, I then went on to get my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My primary clinical experience is working with youth ages 9+ and young adults using cognitive behavioral therapy to build their emotional wellness addressing issues around depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I have significant experience in working with older adolescents and young adults build a healthy identity as they emerge into adulthood, as well as building confidence and positive communication skills in relationships. I have experience in supporting those who present with anxiety disorders, and enjoy teaching mindfulness and relaxation skills to alleviate those anxious emotional experiences.
My newest passion and endeavor is combining mental wellbeing with physical wellbeing. I am now a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and I am combining mental health services with personal training sessions. From this holistic perspective of healing, I will help individuals discuss healthy habits and goals, identify barriers that they have faced in the past, provide informational and companionship support, and help jump start your physical wellbeing journey!
