I graduated in December 2023 with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UNC Charlotte. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in communications from Brigham Young University. After a career in educational consulting where I worked to improve literacy and math skills for underprivileged students here in NC, I was fortunate enough to be able to fulfill a lifelong goal and make a midlife career change to counseling. I am absolutely thrilled to be here!
I believe you have everything inside of you to live your best life, and I will walk beside you on your path to peace and wellness. We will work from a holistic lens that includes gaining insight into your family system, understanding and leveraging your strengths, and developing self compassion. I believe we need to understand our past in order to effectively move forward, but the bulk of our time together will be spent intentionally working on the things you can control to improve your present and future. My counseling approach is person-centered which means I see every client as the person best-equipped to know the desired course of action for themselves, even if that course of action is not yet readily apparent. My role is to assist you in reaching whatever goals you may have for yourself by providing non-judgmental support and helping to facilitate your journey, whatever form it may take.
I am especially interested in trauma, doing couples work, and helping families improve relationships. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults with issues such as depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship work, executive functioning, identity development, religious hurt, and grief. I offer affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals, and I am a great fit for military members and their families. I integrate EMDR, CBT, and Gottman methods when clinically appropriate. Therapy is the best investment you can make in yourself, and I would be thrilled to work with you!
